0. Time and tense and aspect 0.1. The universality of time and the time line All people in the world have the same stream of the time. It has three distinction, the past, the present and the future. If the present is put on the center and the time streams from left to right, the left side is the past and the right side is the future. See the following figure. (1) In the above, the arrow expresses the time stream which is from left to right. The time line can be expressed roughly like the above.
